Providence Hall seeks a highly skilled and enthusiastic part-time elementary (K-5th) teacher's aide to join our team. As a Providence Hall elementary teacher's aide you will be assigned to provide part-time classroom support to a teacher or teachers in grades kindergarten through 5th grade.
Depending on need, up to 23 hours/week during the school year on days when students are present May need to attend some department, building, and LEA professional development, trainings and meetings
Support the learning environment and assist in the daily activities of the elementary classroom in grades kindergarten through 5th grade. Supervise students to maintain a safety, healthy, and nurturing environment in a classroom setting and outside the classroom setting (e.g., hallways, lunch) and inside and outside environments (e.g., pick up/drop off, recess). Keep both the inside and outside school environment clean and orderly by picking up materials, wiping/cleaning tables and other school furniture and fixtures, etc. Assist, support, and work closely with teachers, administrators, and other team members in providing educational benefit for students. Monitor work, correct papers, and supervise curriculum-based testing and makeup work as assigned. Collaborate with colleagues to support the school. Maintain effective communication channels to ensure a collaborative learning community. Actively participate in assigned meetings, professional developments, and other trainings. Other responsibilities as assigned.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Previous experience working with children, in an instructional setting preferred. Good organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Positive interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain calm in high-stress situations. Willing to effectively problem-solve as needed. Basic knowledge of Google Workspace and its collaboration tools. Capacity to perform all the responsibilities listed in this posting. Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, and professional references as a condition of employment. The position requires frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching to engage with students at their level and to perform instructional and supervisory duties in classroom and school facility environments. This position is required to be indoors and outdoors to actively supervise students. Lift up to 25 pounds, traverse school facilities, and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.
