Providence Hall seeks a highly skilled and enthusiastic elementary (K-5th) part-time multilingual learner (ML) interventionist (non-sPED paraprofessional) to join our team. As an elementary (K-5th) part-time multilingual learner (ML) interventionist (non-sPED paraprofessional), you provide classroom support to teachers by implementing interventions to individual limited English proficient (LEP) students or small groups of LEP students as part of our multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS).
Up to 24 hours/week during the school year on days when students are present May need to attend some department, building, and LEA professional development, trainings and meetings
Consult and collaborate with teachers and the Multilingual Learner (ML) Coordinator and Assessment & Intervention Director to prepare interventions to meet the needs of individual limited English proficient (LEP) students. Assist teachers in diagnosing strengths/weaknesses of LEP student and then align outcomes with techniques and materials to increase skills. Work with the teacher to monitor student progress. Implement ML interventions in small groups and one-on-one settings. Efficiently use the various assessment platforms used at the school to interpret data for positive student outcomes. Collaborate with colleagues to support the MTSS process and support the school in general. Maintain effective communication channels with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative learning community. Actively participate in assigned meetings, professional developments, and other trainings. Other responsibilities as assigned.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent, and Meet one of these qualification pathways: Complete at least 48 college semester hours (2 years of higher education), OR Earn an associate degree or higher, OR Pass a rigorous state-approved assessment demonstrating the ability to assist in: reading, writing, mathematics, and/or readiness skills. Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred. Previous experience working with children, in an instructional setting preferred. Good organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Positive interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain calm in high-stress situations. Willing to effectively problem-solve as needed. Basic knowledge of Google Workspace and its collaboration tools. Capacity to perform all the responsibilities listed in this posting. Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, and professional references as a condition of employment. Lift up to 25 pounds, traverse school facilities, and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.
