Job Description
- Portledge School seeks to hire a dynamic Upper School mathematics teacher for a full time leave replacement position from September 2026-March 2027.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong mathematics background with the flexibility to effectively teach Algebra and Geometry.
- This individual should be driven to create a classroom environment where student learning is a non-negotiable goal and passion is evident on a daily basis.
- Responsibilities include teaching 5 sections of mathematics, participating collegially in meetings and initiatives of the mathematics department and taking an active role in the life of the school community.
- This position will report to the Upper School Division Head.

Qualifications
- BA Degree minimum; advanced degree preferred in relevant area(s)
- Teaching certification preferred
- Candidates with formal teaching experience given preference
- Superb written and oral communication as well as organizational and time management skills
- Ability to comfortably, warmly, and effectively engage with large and small groups of adults and/or students in professional or social settings

Compensation Range: $175-$225 per day
