Job description
Center for Developmentally Disabled (CDD) is a private, not-for-profit corporation founded in 1972 serving adults and children with developmental and intellectual disabilities within the greater Kansas City, MO area. CDD provides residential care services, employment services, day habilitation to adults, and a private school for students who are referred through the Kansas City Missouri area.

Job duties
- Data collection on new and present students
- Aggregate data on students as assigned
- Complete reports
- Provide summaries of student behavior as requested
- Complete interest surveys on new students
- Make recommendations for behavior plans
- Work 1:1 with students
- Maintain positive relationships with staff and students
- Use a variety of interventions, as necessary
- Provide direct support to behavioral issues of students.
- Respond immediately to Mr./Mrs. calls
- Provide prompt assistance to any behavioral assistance calls
- Assist with calls for additional staff
- Cover and/or assign lunch breaks
- Help load and unload buses
- Rotate in classrooms when additional assistance is not specifically needed elsewhere
- Substitute in classes, as necessary
- Assist in all facets of the Rainbow Center, Rainbow PALS, and BTR programs as necessary or requested
- Model appropriate behavioral interventions reflective of BIP
- Provide instruction to students, paras, and teachers in the school environment and when requested in meetings
- Inform supervisors of all behavior related issues needing to be addressed
- Attend and actively participate in meetings
- Prioritize duties on basis of importance considering safety, time constraints, and need for assistance
- Maintain certifications and trainings as required
- Exhibit good attendance and punctuality
- Other duties as assigned
