- The Department of Health Professions includes the Physician Assistant Program, the Radiologic Sciences Program and the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Program; all programs prepare our students for practice in diverse medical disciplines through instructional objectives, simulation experiences, and laboratory exposures.

Responsibilities
The Department of Health Professions is seeking applications for an adjunct assistant professor position to teach in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences program.
Primary responsibilities include the following
- Developing the curriculum in their discipline.
- Teaching the course at their appropriate level of instruction.
- Preparing objectives for each lecture.
- Arranging, administering, and grading all examinations.
- Developing and utilizing additional instructional resources to aid in the mastering of material.
- Evaluating the progress of each student as they progress through the course.
- Participating in review sessions for the students prior to taking the ASCP certification examination.
- Reviewing the results of the ASCP certification examination.
- Answering students’ questions in person or by email.
- Reviewing assessment of the course supplied by the student.
- Attending continuing education events to keep current.
The Adjunct, Assistant Professor-Industry Professional will teach courses as assigned by the Personnel and Budget Committee based on the needs of the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Program
Qualifications
Candidate must hold a master’s degree and hold current MLS (ASCP) certification and a license as a clinical laboratory technologist from the NYS Department of Education. Previous teaching experience is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate ongoing professional development in their respective or related fields, adequate knowledge and proficiency in their content areas, and the ability to teach effectively at the appropriate level. The ideal candidate would work well in an interdisciplinary, team-oriented environment.
The adjunct must be compliant with the standards of the Clinical Laboratory Sciences National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) for teaching students preparing for the Clinical Laboratory Sciences profession.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the credit hours salary range for this position is $1,906 to $1,963.
