  • Shift: DaysParaprofessional – Day Treatment Youth Haven Services – Madison, NC Youth Haven Services is expanding our Day Treatment (DTX) program, and we are seeking dedicated Paraprofessionals to join our team as we open a new day treatment facility located on the campus of New Vision school site in Madison, NC. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting youth and families, enjoys providing direct care and skill‑building services, and is ready to play a key role in helping clients achieve stability and success in their homes and communities. Position Summary

Provides direct care and rehabilitative services for group of client’s mental illness as outlined on the Person-Centered Plan. Duties must be performed according to YHS policies and standards dictated by State guidelines. Work hours vary according to client(s) needs. Persons in this position work under the supervision of a Qualified Professional (QP).

Qualifications

  • Education Years of Related Experience Minimum Preferred Minimum Preferred High School Graduate / Equivalent X para 0-1 X Professional Certification 1-3 Technical School / 1 Year College 3-5 Technical School / 2 Years College / Associate’s Degree 5-8 Bachelor’s Degree X AP 8-10 Master’s Degree 10+ Advanced Licensure Required Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training & Travel Requirements (if applicable): Education: High School diploma
  • paraprofessional or AP-Bachelor’s Degree in the Human services Work experience: Preferably some experience with population served. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of community resources; communication skills (written and verbal); background/training/experience, competencies in the use of a personal computer (word processing/excel), e-notes, photocopier and fax machine; organizational abilities; prioritization skills; flexibility; ability to multitask; ability to develop productive relationships; ability to produce in a fast-paced environment, ability to develop responsible decisions and exercise sound judgment. Takes direction well and demonstrates initiative. Travel Requirements: Service is delivered in school setting. Essential Job Duties % of Time 1. Be present in the school with clients during school hours. Review’s client information and person-centered plans to understand needs, limitations, strengths and goals of individuals served. Actively participates in the progress of Person-Centered Plan. Follows Person Centered Plan to aid in development of leisure time, interests, and activities; therapeutic mentoring and behavior and anger management skills training. Become familiar with IEP (individual education plan) and academic goals to assist students with individual needs. 40% 2. Provides delivery of skill building activities such as daily and community living skills, socialization, adaptation, symptom monitoring and management skills. 15% 3. Completes documentation [on client progress] as outlined by program guidelines on a timely basis. 15% 4. You are required to consistently follow the conduct policies and daily operating procedures of your assigned school. Manages behaviors and maintains discipline in accordance with program procedures. 10% 5. Provide NCI compliant restraint as a last resort if client is a danger to others or self and least restrictive interventions have been exhausted. 5% 6.
