About Ignite Achievement Academy Ignite Achievement Academy (www.igniteachievementacademy.com) is a private school with two Charlotte, NC campuses serving students with autism and other learning differences through highly individualized instruction, small class sizes, and whole-child support. Our programs focus on helping students grow academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally in a nurturing and engaging environment.

Position Overview Ignite Achievement Academy is seeking caring, energetic, and dependable individuals to join our Before & After School Program team. Staff members will supervise and engage students with autism and other learning differences in a safe, supportive, and structured environment before and after the school day. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and teens with special needs and who are passionate about building positive relationships through play, creativity, and meaningful interaction. Typical activities may include games, arts and crafts, sensory activities, outdoor play, social interaction support, homework assistance, and helping students practice appropriate social and life skills in a structured setting.

Schedule Monday–Friday Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

This is a part-time position following the school calendar and will begin August, 24, 2026.

Essential Responsibilities Supervise students with autism and other disabilities in a safe and supportive environment Engage students in structured and unstructured recreational activities Facilitate games, crafts, sensory activities, and social interaction opportunities Supervise students on the playground and during indoor activities Support positive behavior and help students follow routines and expectations Assist students with transitions and daily activities as needed Maintain appropriate student supervision at all times Communicate professionally with school staff and administration Help maintain clean, organized, and welcoming program spaces Follow all school safety procedures, confidentiality expectations, and mandatory reporting requirements

Qualifications

Required High school diploma Ability to pass a criminal background check Ability to work consistently during scheduled program hours Patience, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm and supportive in a fast-paced environment Ability to actively supervise students indoors and outdoors Preferred Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification Former or current special education teacher, teaching assistant, or paraprofessional experience Experience working with students with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral needs CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Physical Requirements Ability to move throughout the building and playground areas Ability to participate in active games and activities with students Ability to occasionally lift, bend, crouch, or assist students as needed
