Afternoon Teacher – Classroom Support Role

The Learning Experience – Gainesville is seeking a dependable Afternoon Teacher to support classrooms during afternoon routines, enrichment activities, and end-of-day transitions. This role helps create a safe, engaging, and organized environment for children and families during pickup hours.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with multiple age groups in a collaborative early childhood setting.

Key Responsibilities

Support classrooms serving infants through preschool-aged children Assist with afternoon activities, playground supervision, and classroom transitions Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment Provide ratio coverage across classrooms as needed Support teachers with classroom cleanup and end-of-day preparation Communicate professionally with families during pickup times Follow Virginia childcare licensing and safety requirements

Qualifications

High school diploma required Prior childcare experience preferred Comfortable supporting multiple age groups Reliable, flexible, and team-oriented approach Must meet Virginia childcare licensing requirements
