This is a full-time, exempt, on-site role with compensation ranging from $55,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
What we do Vogel is a well-established nonprofit organization located in Dallas with a history spanning over 36 years. Our core mission is centered around providing exceptional care and early childhood education for young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, all within our NAEYC accredited child care facility. Our innovative approach works to support both children and their parents through a two-generation strategy, offering resources that set families on a path toward a brighter future.
What you’ll do • Clinical Intervention
- Conduct trauma-informed psychosocial assessments, formulate individualized treatment plans, and provide brief, solution-focused individual, family, and group therapy.
- Crisis
- Response: Serve as the initial responder to program participants experiencing acute mental health crises, ensuring prompt safety, stabilization, and internal escalation.
- Psychoeducation &
- Group
- Facilitation: Design and facilitate engaging parent meetings, workshops, and psychoeducational groups focused on parenting, emotional regulation, and coping strategies.
- Attendance &
- Case
- Management: Partner with families to navigate Head Start of Greater Dallas and Vogel attendance policies, creating collaborative strategies to resolve chronic attendance barriers.
- Enrollment &
- Outreach: Participate in community recruitment, conduct eligibility verification interviews, and maintain required program enrollment levels.
- Family
- Engagement: Maintain consistent, strengths-based communication through home visits, phone calls, and meetings to celebrate progress and remove barriers to participation.
- What will make you successful in this role (skills)
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, with licensure or license-eligibility at the LMSW level.
- Two years of supervised work experience in direct services related to mental health, maternal/child health, child welfare, or related fields.
- Familiarity with childhood trauma dynamics and its impact on behavior and social/emotional development.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to empathize, understand, and engage with families.
- Strong computer and organizational skills.
- Reliable, punctual, resourceful, self-initiating, and able to follow through on tasks.
- Capacity to work with diverse populations in a culturally competent manner.
- Ability to work independently with accountability.
- Proficiency in utilizing supervision and management appropriately.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and its impact on homeless families.
