The PSR Teacher provides religious education and faith formation to children and youth using approved curricula. They prepare students for sacraments and encourage active participation in parish life and Mass.

Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St.

Louis.Job Summary The PSR Teacher/Catechist provides religious education and faith formation to children and youth enrolled in the parish religious education program.

The teacher helps students grow in their understanding of Catholic teachings, Scripture, prayer, sacraments, and Christian living in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church.Job Responsibilities Teach weekly PSR classes using parish or diocesan-approved curriculum Prepare lesson plans that are age-appropriate and faith-centered Incorporate Scripture, prayer, Catholic doctrine, and Church traditions into instruction Assist in preparing students for sacraments such as:

First Reconciliation First Holy Communion Confirmation

Foster a safe, respectful, and welcoming classroom environment Encourage students’ participation in Mass and parish life Communicate with parents regarding student progress, assignments, and events Maintain attendance and classroom records Attend catechist meetings, trainings, retreats, and parish events as required Support the mission and values of the Catholic Church through personal example Job Requirements Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church Knowledge of Catholic teachings and sacraments Ability to work effectively with children and families Strong communication and organizational skills Completion of diocesan Safe Environment training and background check Prior teaching or catechetical experience preferred but not always required The Archdiocese of St.
