Position Details

The Opportunity: Cougar Health Services (CHS) at Washington State University is seeking skilled and compassionate physicians to join our team. Our team of experienced and compassionate professionals is dedicated to supporting the health and wellness of every Washington State University (WSU) student. From primary care and mental health services to reproductive care, sports medicine and LGBTQ+ care—we provide inclusive, student-centered care in a safe and welcoming environment. Your wellbeing is our priority, and we’re here to help you thrive. As a Physician for Cougar Health Services (CHS), you will provide primary care for WSU students. In this college health setting, you will demonstrate competence in general medicine, sports medicine, trauma, infectious diseases (including sexually transmitted infections), minor surgical procedures, dermatology, mental health, sexual health, and psychosocial medicine, using current standards of care. You will practice within the scope of your board certification to prescribe, place, and provide contraceptive products, and serve as a resource for students seeking family planning options in a primary care clinic. Your care will include patient education, which may involve counseling on family planning, sexual health, and reproductive medicine. You will be expected to uphold professionalism, collaborate effectively as part of a team, and promote preventive care, patient education, and cost-effective practices. You will also support CHS and the university through non-clinical work as requested. At CHS Medical Clinic, we provide a comprehensive range of medical services that are tailored to the unique needs of college students in a collaborative environment of dedicated healthcare providers and staff. This is a full (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime exempt. Monthly Salary: $17,453.12 - $21,972.34 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO). Completion of an accredited residency program in area of practice. Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, licensure as a doctor of medicine (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) by the State of Washington. M.D. / D.O. degree; board eligible or board certified in a primary care specialty. DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) certification in the state of Washington by time of hire. Maintains current DEA licensure in the state of Washington at all times. Maintains current state of Washington Physician license at all times. Maintains current board certification with the national board of specialty area. Ability to be credentialed and maintain credentialed status with all contracted insurance providers. Obtains and maintains CHS clinical privileges. Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
