- This is a part-time position 17.5 hours per week.
- What you’ll do in this position: Attend classes, meetings, and other events as assigned Transcribe communication in real time for those events Transcribe prerecorded materials (e.g., instructor videos) Provide speech-to-text and text-to-speech communication for mutual understanding and full access Arrange seating, standing, or other positioning to ensure unobstructed visual communication Ensure lighting and auditory reception are appropriate for effective communication Mediate understanding across cultures and clarify communication discrepancies related to cultural variation
- What qualifies you for this role: Required A firm commitment to the mission of BYU High school diploma or equivalent Typing speed of at least 65 words per minute Native or native-like English fluency and grammar skills Ability to hear, comprehend, and retain auditory stimulus in working memory Preferred Bachelor’s degree in any field of study Typing speed of at least 70 words per minute Official training with

- Pay: $28.25 - $36.25 The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors.
