- Physician (Part-Time, 17.5 hours/week) The mission of Student Health Services is to create the best possible experience for every patient in a Christ-centered environment.
- In addition, the MTC Clinic seeks to equip missionaries by restoring physical health and well-being, preparing each missionary to enter the mission field whole, strengthened, and ready to serve.
- What you’ll do in this position: Provide medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in both a clinic and ambulatory setting Provide answers to questions over telephone Be in call rotation to cover calls and weekend rounding on the missionaries Document all findings, consultation, treatment, and diagnoses Review documentation for accuracy Communicate the care of missionaries with the community specialists and ecclesiastical leaders Attend related classes, CME workshops, and meetings Expand medical knowledge by reading educational materials and current medical publications Keep abreast of new developments in medicine Promote a positive image of the department and the University Support activities of the department and other University departments Relate well with other University employees Adhere to University standards and policies Participate in Missionary Committees as assigned Assist Missionary Department with evaluating missionaries What qualifies you for this role: Required: A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
- Expertise in Medicine - Licensed Medical Doctor skills and knowledge, problem-solving, decision-making, cost awareness, patient documentation, planning and organizing, computer skills, ability to maintain confidentiality.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Completion of an accredited residency program Current unrestricted physician license of the State of Utah (or ability to obtain) DEA registration Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain) Board Certified Minimum 3-5 years clinical experience in ambulatory or primary care setting Preferred: Experience in student health, missionary medicine, travel medicine, or urgent care Experience coordinating care with specialists and multidisciplinary teams Leadership or supervisory experience Demonstrated ability to communicate with professionalism, diplomacy and balanced judgment Thorough, attentive, humble, and safety-oriented approach to patient care What we offer in return: This position comes with fantastic benefits, including: Employee assistance program, available to the employee and all members of their household Access to the library Free on-campus parking Free UTA pass Discounts at the BYU Store and for many events at BYU Pay Grade: 57P Typical Starting Pay: $76.50 to $100.00 an hour
