- Part-time Adjunct Faculty members typically teach 3-6 credits per semester, with class schedules determined based on departmental needs and candidate availability.
The successful candidate will teach courses such as Literacy Instruction for P–6, Social Studies Methods for K–6, and/or Integrated K–12 Teaching Methods, depending on the candidate’s qualifications, expertise, and program needs.
Courses are taught in person at the West Long Branch campus. Adjunct positions remain posted continuously to expand the university’s pool of qualified adjunct faculty. This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach 3-6 credits during the semester.
- Develop and deliver course lectures, discussions, and assignments in accordance with the curriculum and learning objectives.
- Provide time during the week to meet with students outside of class.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student engagement and academic success.
- Develop and administer projects and exams to evaluate student learning outcomes and provide grades in a timely manner.
- Provide timely feedback and guidance to students to support their learning and development.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or higher in Education or related field.
- Three (3) years of teaching experience.
- Excellent knowledge of research and teaching practices in teaching content (e.g., literacy, social studies, science, interdisciplinary) in P-12 grades.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching at the university level and in grades K-12 in a public/private school setting.
- State teaching certification.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the undergraduate level.
