Pete’s Place Early Childhood Education Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for preschool-aged children (2–5 years old). This role is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and classroom activities that support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. The Lead Teacher provides daily supervision of children, fosters positive behavior guidance, maintains strong partnerships with families, and collaborates with assistant teachers and support staff to create a high-quality early learning experience. The ideal candidate is committed to promoting curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, and school readiness while ensuring compliance with state licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and program quality requirements.
Knowledge/Experience
Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of principles of childhood growth and development required. Demonstrated ability to apply Early Childhood Development theory in daily activities, and adapt to the individual needs of children required. Demonstrated ability for decision and problem solving abilities. Demonstrated ability to work as a team member collaborating with staff, families and community resources. Demonstrated ability to maintain respectful relations and communication with staff, families, children and community required. Demonstrated ability to supervise children and ensure a safe environment required . Demonstrated ability to respond to events happening at all times in classroom, outdoor play areas and on field trips required.
Education
Two years of experience in a licensed early childhood program required plus 32 hours of ECP training or Level 2 on the ECP Registry, and AHA Pediatric First Aid and CRP certified.
