Toddler Classroom Assistant

Toddler Classroom Assistant Knoxville Montessori School is seeking a Toddler Classroom Assistant for the 2026–2027 school year. This role supports the Lead Guide in maintaining a prepared Montessori toddler environment that serves the physical, social, emotional, language, and developmental needs of young children.

The Toddler Classroom Assistant plays an important role in supporting independence, care of self, toileting, classroom routines, transitions, regulation, and care of the environment. A central part of this role is supporting toilet learning with consistency, dignity, patience, and respect for the child’s growing independence. The ideal candidate is warm, steady, observant, patient, and comfortable supporting young children with toileting, dressing, handwashing, hygiene, snack, outdoor play, and daily routines. This person should value Montessori philosophy, child-centered education, and the belief that even very young children are capable when given the right environment and support.

Responsibilities

include supporting classroom flow, assisting with toileting and care-of-self routines, helping maintain a clean and orderly environment, supporting children’s independence, communicating observations to the Lead Guide, attending required meetings and school events, and following KMS expectations for professionalism, confidentiality, and communication.

A bachelor’s degree is required. Experience with toddlers, early childhood, Montessori education, or child development is preferred.
