Job description
HJ Staffing is hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) for school-based assignments within Houston. In this role, you’ll be the frontline of student health, providing direct care, managing medical plans, and supporting a safe, healthy learning environment. This is a great opportunity for compassionate nurses who want to make an impact outside of the hospital setting, supporting student success across diverse Houston communities. What You’ll Do Administer daily care, medications, and emergency interventions for students Maintain and implement Individualized Health Plans and Emergency Action Plans Ensure compliance with state-mandated health screenings and immunization records Support public health efforts in communicable disease control and reporting Serve as a key liaison between students, families, school staff, and medical providers Promote health education and wellness initiatives on campus Comply with HISD and Texas regulations for school nursing
Qualifications
Active Texas RN license CPR/AED certification (required) Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred) At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience (school nurse experience is a plus) Must be able to pass HISD background check and onboarding requirements Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation Tube feeding and Catheterization experience.
