We are seeking Special Education Teachers who are passionate about making a difference in children’s lives within home and community settings. Position Overview As a Special Education Teacher in our Early Intervention program, you will work with infants and toddlers (birth to 3 years old) with developmental delays. You will design and implement individualized intervention plans and partner with families to support their child’s educational and functional growth.

  • Provide direct early childhood special education services to children in home and community settings
  • Implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs)
  • Conduct developmental assessments and progress monitoring
  • Work collaboratively with families and interdisciplinary team members
  • Deliver family coaching to encourage developmental growth
  • Maintain documentation and service logs in compliance with NYC EI requirements

Qualifications

  • New York State certification in Special Education (Birth–Grade 2), Special Education Permanent Certification or TSSLD/TSHH
  • Experience with infants, toddlers, or early childhood preferred
  • Knowledge of Early Intervention service delivery models and documentation standards
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to travel within assigned boroughs of NYC Physical Requirements:
  • Hand dexterity ability (ability to operate mobile device, smart phone, computer)
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to travel to various locations on a near daily basis
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time *Rates are determined based on a combination of factors such as experience level, assignment location, service setting, and applicable program guidelines.
