Position Summary

The Math Interventionist provides targeted math intervention and instructional support for students who are in need of additional support, while partnering with classroom teachers to strengthen math skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate; Math endorsement is strongly preferred in grade area.
  • Valid elementary teaching certification to hold an interventionist role.
  • Candidates who do not yet hold a Michigan teaching certificate may qualify through enrollment in GEE's Career Advancement Program (CAP), which provides a supported pathway to Michigan certification. CAP eligibility is determined at the time of application.

  • Deliver intensive one-on-one and small-group math intervention based on individual student need
  • Develop and maintain individualized math intervention plans with ongoing progress monitoring
  • Administer math assessments and use results to adjust instructional strategies
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers
  • Maintain accurate student progress records in compliance with school and state requirements
  • Communicate with parents regarding goals, progress, and strategies to support learning at home

Physical requirements

Must be able to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for extended periods. Work environment includes elevated noise levels.
