Job Summary: The job hours for this position are 9:15 AM to 5:45 PM, Monday through Friday on scheduled class days. For the Classroom Assistant position, under general supervision, and on a full-time basis, facilitates substitute lesson plans for a class as needed in any of the following disciplines: English, Math, History, Science, Languages (Chinese, French and/or Spanish), Fine Arts, and Physical Education. For the After School Supervisor and other duties, under minimal supervision, supervises middle school students after school hours. Specific Responsibilities: Classroom Assistant Provides classroom instruction and management based on teacher’s lesson plans Is familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the school’s documents Since safety and security are everyone’s responsibility, takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials and facilities Performs other duties as assigned After School Supervisor Oversees the check-in/check-out process for students after school hours Supervises 6th – 8th graders in a structured setting from 3:00-5:30 Monday through Friday Communicates with the Middle School Director or Middle School Dean of Students regarding student concerns Monitors student safety for all students on campus, grades 6-8 Reacts responsibly and rationally in case of emergency Addresses behavior and health related issues that occur Completes accident, injury and behavior reports when necessary Since safety and security are everyone’s responsibility, takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials and facilities Performs other duties as assigned QualificationsRequired Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university Experience working with adolescents preferred First Aid/ CPR certification required (if not certified, training will be provided) Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Energy and enthusiasm and ability to hold students and oneself to high expectations Good understanding of the developmental needs of middle school and high school students Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the students and program Mature, responsible and upbeat, with proven ability to work independently Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidential information Ability to work efficiently in a Microsoft Windows or Mac environment using Office, master common automated systems for record keeping, and learn new technology Ability to work and communicate well with all levels of faculty and staff Ability to work and communicate well with students and their parents Compensation & Benefits: Compensation Schedule
