  • Category: EducationPosition Summary The Career Transition Services (CTS) Specialist plays a direct role in helping students launch into full-time employment, higher education, or advanced training after Job Corps. This role provides individualized transition support and case management, helping students identify and overcome barriers, build realistic plans, and stay on track through placement. The CTS Specialist also conducts community job development by building strong relationships with employers and community partners to create real opportunities for student success. This is a high-impact, mission-driven role where your outcomes matter—and are recognized. Management & Supervision N/A (Individual contributor role) Core Responsibilities Follow all integrity guidelines and procedures; ensure no manipulation of student data. Provide transition case management and counseling for assigned students, focused on placement outcomes. Support educational and placement goals that align with Department of Labor (DOL) and company performance standards. Establish supportive, mentoring relationships with students during the Career Transition phase. Develop, monitor, and update individualized transition plans to ensure students meet post-center success goals. Identify barriers to placement (housing, transportation, documentation, readiness, etc.) and coordinate solutions with center resources. Provide personalized career counseling and evaluate student readiness and progress toward employment or training. Conduct job development activities and build community partnerships that lead to industry-relevant job opportunities. Build and maintain positive employer relationships and create pipelines for ongoing student placement. Ensure accurate and timely reporting, documentation, and compliance to meet contract deliverables and center expectations. Produce high-quality work that is thorough, timely, and accurate; meet deadlines with minimal follow-up. Maintain strong attendance, accountability, and productivity standards. Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet performance goals and timelines. Model Career Success Standards as required by the PRH and support a professional culture on center. Provide appropriate supervision and guidance to students when applicable; take swift and appropriate action to support student conduct expectations. Communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally; provide timely information to DOL/company when requested. Identify problems, analyze root causes, propose solutions, and follow through to ensure issues are resolved. Collaborate with Career Technical Training (CTT), academic, and center departments to deliver coordinated student support. Accept direction from center leadership and support center operations as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. What Success Looks Like Students successfully transition into full-time jobs, education, or training with strong retention potential. Placement outcomes meet or exceed center and DOL performance goals. Employer partnerships expand and produce consistent job leads and opportunities. Documentation is accurate, timely, and audit-ready. Students experience consistent follow-up, clear coaching, and real accountability toward career readiness.
