- Range: $11.00 - $14.00This position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The School Age Teacher is responsible for the health, safety, welfare, and personal growth of each youth, ages 5-12 within a 1:18 ratio. The School Age Teacher shall plan, implement, supervise & evaluate recreational activities daily to provide adventure, enjoyment, and develop social skills and interests in youth. The School Age Teacher will follow child abuse prevention policies, complete required training, maintain appropriate boundaries, and comply with mandated reporting requirements. Qualifications Must be 18 years old but can be 17 with DPI course Required to keep First Aid, CPR, and AED Certificate current Must meet Wisconsin state licensing qualification as BASE Teacher as minimum certification Experience working with children Willingness to learn state licensing childcare regulations and procedures for Group Day Care Centers Ability to work cooperatively with youth, parents, staff and community organizations Ability to work with general supervision Maintain a valid driver’s license Background check cannot contain offenses restricted by state law
