  • Shift: DaySummer Parks Camp Teacher provide the opportunity for Elementary to have a safe, fun, memorable blast during the summer all while helping to promote continued growth in reading, math, and Character Development- Social Emotional skill! The Summer Parks Camp
  • Teacher is responsible for leading a group
  • Elementary age children (1:12 ratio) in summer “camp” activities that include team building games, teen driven activities, sports, service-learning projects, reading, math, and social-emotional development. The Camp Teacher also works together with a strong team of Camp staff. A Summer Parks Camp Teacher is a role model and mentor to Elementary children who need someone to come alongside them and provide support and encouragement. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Build relationships with children ages 6 - 11 yrs old Design & facilitate lessons and activities based on the needs of the youth & according Camp objectives Assess & document youth ’ progress (SEL) Use best teaching practices to meet individual student objectives. Maintain a professional attitude and relationship with parents and families and work with them as required. Attend site staff meetings (TBD) CAMP HOURS AND LOCATION Camp begins Tuesday, June 16th and ends Friday, July 24th Training week begins June 6th Camp runs Monday - Friday; 12:00 - 5:00 PM with hours for Prep and Planning Camp is located at Columbus Park near Frank Elementary School Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age or older. High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelors preferred. A minimum of two years prior experience working with children under 13 years of age required. Exceptional group management, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Experience in creating interactive and educational/artistic activities, youth development, academic enrichment and arts. Must possess oral, auditory and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults. Must be capable of implementing the daily administrative, program related, and supervisory responsibilities of an afterschool site. Flexibility, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Required to keep Frist Aid, CPR, and AED Certificate Current
