Overview

Provides effective physical therapy care in area of specialty practice. Participates in learner-centered instructional activities in clinical, academic or community settings. Participates in scholarly activities that enhance professional growth.

Responsibilities

Accurately, comprehensively and efficiently performs specialty specific examinations in simple and complex clinical Presentations and correctly establishes prognosis and therapy diagnoses (15%) Establishes effective and efficient plans of care that accurately predict goal achievement, frequency and duration of the episode of care required for simple and complex clinical presentations (5%) Effectively chooses and modifies treatment interventions and patient education to guide patient management for successful treatment outcomes (50%) Effectively and efficiently generates documentation and charges to justify an episode of care that is cost-effective and value based and complies with payor rules for documentation, authorization and treatment (10%) Analyzes data from specialty specific patient outcome measures and mentor feedback in a self-reflective manner to enhance patient outcomes across diverse patient populations (5%) Designs, directs and implements learner-centered instructional activities in clinical, academic or community settings to advance physical therapist practice and/or community health (5%) Fulfills program requirements through full participation in academic activities that enhance professional growth (10%)

Qualifications

Education Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Therapy Required Licensure/Certification Current Florida Physical Therapy license OR temporary Physical Therapist permit with the requirement of obtaining valid Florida Physical Therapy license within 60 days of date of hire/transfer. During this time, the physical therapist resident must be under the direct supervision of a supervising licensed physical therapist while providing patient care. BLS or ACLS from American Heart Association Required Experience Less than 1 year patient care experience, experience gained in school during clinical rotations is acceptable.
