$65,000-$73,000 Qualifications REQUIREMENTS Preferred bachelor’s or advanced degree in Kinesiology or related field ATC (Athletic Trainer Certification) credential is a required Preferred 3+ years of relevant experience at the high school and/or college level preferred Must keep their knowledge and skills current by participating in continuing education Must strictly adhere to standards of professional practice set by the national/CA certifying agency and code of ethics Knowledge: Incumbent must possess knowledge of the principles and practices of Athletic Training including conditioning and injury prevention, as well as injury assessment and rehabilitation; the full range of therapeutic modalities and their practical use; other therapeutic preventions and treatments such as taping and bracing, effective use of rehabilitation and exercise equipment; rules, regulations and guidelines established by the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) pertaining to student-athletes, their training, sports medicine care, health and safety; Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) standards for handling Blood Borne Pathogens; maintaining training room records, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards; and following insurance procedures; Abilities: Incumbent must be able to effectively assess and evaluate, manage and treat injuries based on their severity; develop and/or follow conditioning and rehabilitation programs; manage and treat minor injuries; use the appropriate range of appropriate therapeutic modalities, rehabilitation and exercise equipment to treat and prevent injuries; determine appropriate referrals to other health care professionals; recognize life threatening situations and administer the appropriate emergency aid; Teaching: Incumbent must have demonstrated teaching experience in stretching techniques, weight training and body toning and conditioning, nutrition, healthy lifestyle and wellbeing; Strong interpersonal and communication skills required This position must be available to work evenings and weekends per the needs of the department, which will be determined by the Director of Athletics and PE
