Job description

The Intervention Teacher is responsible for supporting the academic growth of students through targeted intervention services. The teacher will work one-on-one and in small groups with students to assess current levels of performance and provide individualized instruction based on student needs. The Intervention Teacher is also responsible for maintaining detailed records of student sessions, monitoring progress, and reviewing academic data to ensure student growth and achievement.

  • Provide a student-centered learning environment with high expectations and accountability aligned to the school’s academic goals and objectives.
  • Work individually and in small groups with students to assess current academic performance levels.
  • Provide targeted instruction that addresses the specific needs of each student.
  • Gather, organize, and interpret assessment data for identified students.
  • Utilize best-practice instructional strategies and research-based intervention curriculum materials to support student learning needs.
  • Model effective intervention strategies for general education and special education teachers through classroom support and collaboration.
  • Analyze student achievement data and administer assessments and progress-monitoring tools as needed to track student growth.
  • Provide professional development during meetings in collaboration with and as directed by the principal.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, administration, and parents to provide academic support and intervention strategies for students.
  • Maintain accurate student records, parent communication logs, and student progress reports in accordance with school policy.
  • Attend professional development opportunities that support instructional improvement, intervention implementation, and professional growth.
  • Complete appropriate MTSS forms, documentation, and records based on students’ responses to intervention services.
