Job Description

Our Theology Department is searching for a caring, career-minded professional to teach theology in a department that strives to bring to life “a faith that does justice.” The position may include teaching at all levels from 9th through 12th grade. The teacher will work in a dynamic, collaborative, and technology rich environment with fellow teachers to create an educationally sound and developmentally appropriate learning environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Be willing to teach 8th grade theology, Foundations of Catholic Morality (9th), Sacred Scripture (10th), and at least one of our electives: Catholic Social Thought, Ethical Decisions, Ignatian Spirituality, introduction to Philosophy, or World Religions Teach a full course load; 5 classes and emergency proctoring Participate in co-curricular, service and retreat opportunities with students Collaborate and communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Skills and Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Religious Studies or Theology. Master’s degree is preferred. The position requires the candidate to be a practicing Catholic. The ability to demonstrate how theological concepts apply to everyday life. A clear understanding of and commitment to Loyola Blakefield’s mission of graduating young men who are Religious, Loving, Academically Excellent, Open to Growth, Committed to Diversity, and Committed to Working for a Just World.
