The Group Exercise Aqua Instructor is a vital connection to our members and plays a key role in the company's brand promise of Making People Feel Comfortable and our core purpose of Changing Peoples Lives. The Group Exercise Aqua Instructor is part of the Brick Bodies team and is under the supervision of the Group Exercise Director.

  • OUTCOMES: Deliver world class group exercise experiences that are safe, effective, and motivational in the aquatic setting Assist in the education of members about safe, effective exercise techniques in both deep water and shallow water classes Achieve agreed upon class attendance targets for each scheduled class Arrive to teach all classes a minimum of 10 minutes in advance of the class start time Begin and end all classes on time as scheduled Be prepared for all scheduled classes Teach the class format that is scheduled Assume full responsibility for the coverage of any classes that require substitution Download and utilize the appropriate group exercise platforms which include: Entering class attendance for all scheduled classes immediately after the class is completed Utilizing the substitution process within the app for all required substitutions Reading and actioning, when necessary, all posted notices & communications Attend semi-annual Group Exercise Team Meetings Maintain certifications and continuing education for all actively taught programs; inclusive of

  • SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Previous group exercise teaching experience is preferred but not required Clear understanding of the properties of water and how to safely and effectively teach in both deep water and shallow water classes Knowledge of all group exercise aquatic equipment, it’s proper use and storage Ability to teach to both swimmers and non-swimmers in all classes Program certification required for all licensed programs. Traditional programs require a program specific training. Current CPR/AED certification or acquisition of CPR/AED certification within 3 months of date of hire Strong leadership, coaching, and crowd management skills including voice projection and the ability to mirror image while teaching on deck Excellent communication both verbally and visually Strong desire to work with participants of varying abilities in a single class Qualifications
