- Range: $17.13 - $17.13 HourlyThe Classroom Assistant Intern supports the infant/toddler teaching team in creating a safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. Working under the guidance and supervision of the Lead Teacher, the intern assists with daily classroom activities including reading, arts and crafts, sensory play, outdoor experiences, meal support, and active play opportunities. This position requires a positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to actively participate in a fast-paced classroom setting. The Classroom Assistant Intern is expected to interact closely with children throughout the day, including spending time on the floor, supporting routines, and helping maintain a clean and organized environment. The intern will learn and follow classroom procedures, health and safety protocols, and guidance provided by EPIC staff while developing skills in early childhood education and child development. Responsibilities 1. Engage with children through play, reading, and learning activities. 2. Assist in implementing classroom activities under the guidance of the teaching team. 3. Support children with handwashing and personal care routines. 4. Help with cleaning before and after mealtimes. 5. Maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment. 6. Prepare materials and supplies as directed by teaching staff. 7. Conditions of Employment
Prior to employment, complete a pre-employment drug screen, Tb skin test by an EPIC approved healthcare provider at no cost to the employee. Pre-employment basic physical by an EPIC healthcare provider (obtain within (30) days of employment and no cost to the employee). Must pass an initial and periodic background check through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) in Merit. Provide proof of MMR vaccination and/ or resistance to Measles, Mumps & Rubella. Current Food Handlers card Current First Aid/CPR card Prior to first day complete Health & Safety training certificates through DCYF student training portal. Complete Childcare Basics 30 hours STARS training within 3 months of hire Meet the minimum education requirements within the timeframe as stated in the performance standards. Complete Child Abuse and Neglect training and all other mandated training.
