Your opportunity

As a Substitute Teacher working with children ages 6 weeks to 3 years, you will

  • Provide staffing support, as needed, at our Early Head Start center.
  • Assist with developmentally appropriate care and education in a nurturing environment.
  • Foster growth in key developmental areas, including social, emotional, nutritional, and physical development.
  • Support classroom routines and learning activities that encourage exploration and growth.
  • Partner with families to support children's learning and individual needs.
  • Help maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging learning environment.
  • Play a key role in our federally funded Early Head Start (EHS) program, supporting qualifying families with vital early learning services.

What you bring

  • Required qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience working with infants and young toddlers in a group care setting.
  • Experience providing safe, healthy, responsive caregiving and developmentally appropriate learning activities.
  • Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis.
  • Knowledge of child safety, nutrition, and inclusive early learning practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine love for working with children.
  • Bonus points for
  • Experience working in Early Head Start, Head Start, or licensed child-care programs.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Medication Administration Training (MAT).
  • Bilingual skills.
  • Experience supporting children of all abilities and diverse family backgrounds.
