Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the classroom teacher. Maintain a safe, orderly, and productive classroom environment. Take attendance and follow established school procedures. Supervise students throughout the school day, including during transitions and assigned duties. Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies and procedures. Communicate relevant information regarding the school day to the regular teacher upon their return. Utilize classroom technology and instructional materials as needed. Follow all school policies, procedures, and emergency protocols. Maintain confidentiality regarding students and school-related information. Perform other duties as assigned by school administration. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Valid Substitute Teaching Certification or eligibility to obtain certification, as required by New York State. Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the classroom and school building for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry instructional materials and classroom supplies as needed. Ability to supervise students in various school environments. Working Conditions School-based environment. Schedule varies based on staffing needs and substitute assignments. May be assigned to different grade levels and subject areas.
