MaineGeneral Medical Center in central Maine is seeking Primary Care physicians, including Third year Residents, with an interest in Emergency Medicine. MaineGeneral's Emergency Medicine Fellowship program provides a high quality, rigorous educational experience that prepares individuals to work in a rural or community Emergency Department. As a program recognized by the American Board of Physician Specialties, fellowship graduates will qualify to sit for written and oral exams to achieve recognition by The Board of Certification in Emergency Medicine. This program is 12 months long and includes 13, 4 week blocks consisting of rotations in the ED, Intensive Care Unit, Trauma, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and a one month elective rotation. Additionally, the fellow will complete courses in ATLS, Point-of-Care Ultrasound and The Difficult Airway Course. Fellowship Program Eligibility: Must have, or will be, graduated from an accredited allopathic or osteopathic family medicine residency program. ABFM/AOBFP or ABIM/AOBIM certification or eligibility Must be eligible for a Maine license and DEA certificate Must have BLS/ACLS/PALS certification Submission of all required documents by deadline, including one from the program director MaineGeneral does not sponsor J1 visas for this program. Fellowship Program Highlights: Established program since 2010. Supervision provided by experienced Emergency Medicine Physicians. Training in a state-of-the-art emergency department, with a 198 bed facility as well as a freestanding emergency department; combined visits of approximately 43,000 per year. Conveniently located an hour north of Portland, Maine's largest city and three hours from Boston.
