Job description

Adelphi is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide school-based occupational therapy support services to students with disabilities at a school in Greenville, South Carolina. The COTA will deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services under the direction of a supervising Occupational Therapist, assist students with progress toward IEP goals, complete required documentation, and collaborate with school-based teams to support the District’s occupational therapy program.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited occupational therapy program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Valid South Carolina Occupational Therapy license/certification applicable to COTA practice
  • Current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Minimum of three years of experience in pediatric occupational therapy

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students across school locations in accordance with each student’s IEP and under the direction of the Occupational Therapist
  • Collaborate with the Supervising Occupational Therapist and IEP team members to support student progress toward IEP goals
  • Complete required documentation in compliance with AOTA standards, South Carolina licensure requirements, Medicaid requirements, and District procedures
  • Support implementation of the District’s occupational therapy program as a related service for students with disabilities
  • Participate in school-based collaboration, consultation, and service planning as directed
  • Serve as a clinical supervisor to assigned OTA college students, as applicable
  • Coordinate with the Supervising Occupational Therapist, Lead Occupational Therapist, and Director of Speech Therapy regarding service delivery and student needs
  • Maintain professional conduct and comply with all District policies, safety standards, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Complete training on District procedures and software programs, as required after vendor contract award
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervising Occupational Therapist, Lead Occupational Therapist, and/or Director of Speech Therapy
