The Youth Advocate is responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of adolescents aged 12-18 in a residential group home. Key duties include implementing behavioral support plans, providing daily living skills training, and performing de-escalation interventions.
A High School Diploma or GED is required, with a preference for one year of experience working with adolescents or residential systems like DMH and DCF. Candidates must be able to obtain certifications in CPI, CPR, and first aid, and must be able to drive.
Description We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and motivated Weekend Overnight Youth Advocate to support youth in this adolescent group home. This role provides a safe, stable, and supportive environment during overnight hours.
The Youth Advocate is responsible for maintaining a positive, trauma-informed atmosphere, assisting with crisis intervention as needed, and helping residents follow house guidelines and routines. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates passionate about youth development, behavioral health, or human services who are available to work Friday and Saturday overnights.
Provide awake, overnight supervision and support for youth ages 12-18 years old. Monitor resident safety and conduct routine wellness checks throughout the shift. Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies or behavioral issues. Document all shift activities, incidents, and resident interactions accurately and in a timely manner. On the rare occasion due to staffing needs, you may be asked to work your scheduled shift at any of the four residential programs in Quincy, Weymouth, Hingham or Plymouth.
