Social Worker

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree preferred Pennsylvania Criminal Record Check Clearance Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance FBI Criminal Background Clearance Certificates/Licenses:

Pennsylvania License in Social Work

Demonstrated Knowledge of

• Mental health issues and proper procedures for identification and referrals Conducting counseling sessions Conducting interviews and engaging families and students Interpreting data relative to a student’s social history by conducting behavioral observations, making home visits, conducting interviews, and reviewing school records
• Demonstrated
• Ability to: Collect, interpret, and synthesize information about a student’s social history, community environment, family dynamics, economic differences, and significant crises that influence academic and behavioral functioning Work cooperatively as an interdisciplinary team member and devise an appropriate service plan for referred students and their families Synthesize and interpret diagnostic and assessment data Communicate and manage time effectively Establish and maintain effective working relationships with community agencies, students, families, team members, and others
