Provide direct care, academic support, and positive engagement for students with emotional and developmental challenges. Responsibilities include implementing treatment techniques, collecting behavioral data, and assisting with hygiene and educational needs.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in special education is preferred along with a strong desire to support students with disabilities.
Meets with classroom teacher and/or immediate supervisor to discuss daily activities, academics, behavioral support, social and/or medical concerns related to the students. Completes and submits paperwork, instructional data, and behavior data in a timely fashion as scheduled per students assigned. Uses Agency-approved treatment techniques in supervising and educating students upon completing training Demonstrates familiarity with behavior management and behavior education techniques used at TRS. Engages students in active learning as directed by the classroom teacher. Provides support for all staff working within the classroom setting and ensures that Education Department policies are withheld.
