Job description

  • Student and Campus Life (SCL) inspires transformation in all Cornell students on their journey of individual, academic and personal evolution.
  • Our division is comprised of leading student affairs experts who support our campus on pressing student life matters including public service, health, wellbeing, connection and belonging, residential living, food services, sports, recreation, career services, and student activities and organizations including sorority and fraternity life.
  • We provide support and services to roughly 25,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on multiple campuses in the U.S. and abroad.

  • The Assistant Coach for Men’s Heavyweight Rowing assists the Head Coach in the planning and operation of the men’s crew program at Cornell University.
  • This includes, in coordination with the 1st assistant, helping to plan and execute team practice and regattas and providing input on player evaluation and other recommendations to the head coach.
  • The Assistant Coach also has both on- and off-campus recruiting responsibilities, to identify, encourage and evaluate application and acceptance of student athletes at Cornell in accordance with the Ivy League, NCAA and University policies as assigned by the head coach.
  • This is an 11-month per year position.
  • The salary range for this 11-month position is $57,600.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with up to 1 years of high-level, competitive coaching experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven success and potential in coaching, recruiting and in working with student-athletes.
  • Highly motivated with an outstanding work ethic and a relentless recruiter.
  • Knowledgeable of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • A valid NYS boating and driver’s license is required to perform responsibilities Experience with Microsoft Office products.
