The Teacher will lead a preschool classroom serving 3- and 4-year-old children in the Head Start program while creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment that supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. Teacher I- Associate’s Degree (A.A.) in Early Childhood Development or related field from an accredited two-year college or technical school Teacher II- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Early Childhood Development or related field from an accredited four-year college or university Teacher III- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Early Child Development or equivalent from a four-year college or university; North Carolina State BK-Teacher’s Certification, and one to two years’ related experience and/or training Experience working in preschool or early childhood setting Child Care Credentials I & II (EDU 119) required, or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain Strong communication and classroom management skills Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and staff Valid driver’s license required Physical Requirements Must be able to actively supervise young children, move throughout classroom environments, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
