Job description

The Track & Field Graduate Assistant will assist the coaching staff in all aspects of operating a competitive NCAA track & field and cross country program.
Responsibilities include coaching assistance, recruiting coordination, travel organization, academic support, practice management, and administrative duties.
This position is designed to provide professional development and hands-on experience for individuals pursuing a career in collegiate athletics.
Coaching & Athlete Development Assist with daily practice planning and implementation.
Provide event-specific coaching instruction as assigned (distance, sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, or multis).
Support strength and conditioning coordination alongside performance staff.
Monitor student-athlete progress and promote a positive team culture.
Assist during home and away competitions.
Recruiting Identify and evaluate prospective student-athletes.
Maintain recruiting databases and communication records.
Communicate with recruits, high school coaches, club coaches, and parents in accordance with NCAA rules.
Assist with official and unofficial campus visits.
Operations & Administration Coordinate team travel logistics, including itineraries and lodging.
Assist with meet entries and competition organization.
Manage equipment inventory and apparel distribution.
Assist with social media content and program promotion.
Complete other administrative tasks as assigned by the head coach.
Academic & Student-Athlete Support Encourage academic success and monitor student-athlete eligibility.
Coordinate with academic support staff when necessary.
Promote personal development, leadership, and sportsmanship.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required.
Acceptance into a graduate program at the institution.
Collegiate track & field and/or cross country experience preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations preferred.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel frequently.
