The Assistant Coach provides skill instruction and implements season-long plans for track and field athletes. They also coordinate team operations, recruiting, and ensure adherence to NCAA and CAA compliance rules.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree and have at least one year of collegiate or professional experience in track and field (multi's/jumps). A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain AED/CPR certification are required.
for the Assistant Coach of Track & Field include, but are not limited to the following: Provides skill instruction for student-athletes, including independent planning and implementation of a season long plan for a set group of athletes; participates in all aspects of practice instruction and competition Under the direction of the head coach, coordinates all team operations including travel, bus, hotel, and restaurant logistics under budgetary elements Assists with recruiting and evaluation of prospective student-athletes including, but not limited to official visits Assists with academic support, fundraising activities, home meet management, community servicing including communication and outreach to alumni Coordinates with Director of Student-Athlete Experience and tracks and maintains accurate records of all student-athlete participation in Total Tiger programs Maintains knowledge of and adherence to NCAA and CAA rules Completes monthly CARA logs, recruiting logs, and other end-of-year summaries and correspondence within ARMS Software in coordination with the Compliance Office Works collaboratively within the structure and framework of the athletics department and university Performs other duties consistent with the nature of the role as assigned by the head coach The work hours for this position include weekends and holidays as necessary for practice and competition schedule. Travel is required.
Bachelor’s degree One year of experience in track & field (multi's/jumps) at the collegiate or professional level A commitment to knowing and complying with NCAA, CAA, and institutional rules Must be able to obtain AED/CPR certification and University Fleet Van Training within 3 months of employment Must have and maintain a valid non-commercial Class C or equivalent driver's license
