MORAVIAN ACADEMY Gifted and Support Specialist Full-Time

Grades 1–8 What if your job was to hold two truths at once: that every learner deserves a challenge, and that every learner deserves support? At Moravian Academy's Swain Campus, we're looking for someone who lives comfortably in that productive complexity. You are an educator who sees potential from multiple angles. You're as comfortable designing enrichment experiences for a gifted third grader as you are building targeted interventions for a student who needs a different way in. You read assessment data the way some people read maps - as tools for getting somewhere better. In this full-time, 10-month role, you'll serve students across grade levels (likely grades 1–8) in small groups and individually, partnering with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to meet each learner where they are. You'll adapt core curricula including Singapore Math, Wilson Fundations, Fishtank ELA, and Inquiry Journeys, author individualized learning plans, and serve as a key member of the Student Support Team. This is a role for someone who is both a specialist and a collaborator - deeply knowledgeable, structurally flexible, and committed to the full range of what learners need. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Gifted Education, or a closely related field; master's and/or state certification preferred Demonstrated experience designing and delivering targeted interventions and enrichment programming for elementary-aged students Deep understanding of neurodiversity, child development, and evidence-based strategies for learning support and gifted pedagogy Proficiency in using assessment data to develop, monitor, and adjust individualized learning plans (IEPs, 504s, or enrichment profiles) Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers to provide in-class support and differentiation Experience with Singapore Math, Wilson Fundations, Fishtank ELA, or Inquiry Journeys preferred Secondary mathematics experience (Algebra, Geometry, Statistics) preferred Background in an independent school or college-preparatory setting preferred Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education preferred Successful completion of required Pennsylvania background clearances (Act 34, Act 151, Act 114) prior to start of employment If you're built for this kind of complexity, we'd love to meet you.
