University Christian School (UCS) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School English Teacher to join our academic team. This educator will provide engaging, rigorous, and Christ-centered instruction in English Language Arts for students in grades 6–8. The ideal candidate will foster a love for reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking while integrating biblical worldview and character development into daily instruction. The Middle School English Teacher is expected to model Christ-like character, actively support the spiritual growth of students, and partner with families in the educational process.
Key Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum Plan and deliver effective, developmentally appropriate English Language Arts instruction aligned with Florida Standards and UCS curriculum. Teach reading comprehension, literature analysis, grammar, vocabulary, writing (narrative, expository, argumentative), and oral communication. Integrate faith, biblical truth, and Christian worldview into lesson planning and classroom discussions. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and support student growth. Classroom Management & Student Development Create a positive, respectful, and structured classroom environment that encourages student engagement and accountabil Maintain high academic and behavioral expectations while nurturing students socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback. Assessment & Communication Develop and administer assessments to measure student learning and mastery. Maintain accurate grade records and documentation. Communicate regularly and professionally with parents/guardians regarding student progress, expectations, and concerns. Collaboration & Professionalism Collaborate with middle school team members, support staff, and administration. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, chapel services, and school events. Uphold all school policies, procedures, and statement of faith.
