The Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach and Facilities Assistant is an administrative position within the Department of Athletics and Physical Education, with dual reporting lines to the Women’s Soccer Head Coach and the Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities, Events and Scheduling. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible, 44 week position requiring weekend, holiday, early morning, and late evening hours. The 44 weeks will be distributed across the calendar year through mutual agreement by the employee and their direct supervisors. The Assistant Women’s Soccer and Facilities Assistant will support the Head Women’s Soccer Coach in all aspects of a competitive and inclusive NCAA III women’s soccer program. The position will also support the Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities, Events and Scheduling in the administration of game management and other facilities operations. Responsibilities Assist the Head Sport Coach with: Preparation for and execution of all practice and game plans to include: on-field instruction for practices and games, creation of practice plans, development of game strategies and competitive coaching, scouting, game prep, and video exchange Player and team development to include: team film analysis and analytics, sports performance tech management, academic monitoring, and other player and team development activities All recruitment activities to include: recruitment correspondence, on-campus visits, recruiting travel, and prospect identification Creation of and engagement in all team activities to include: alum engagement, fundraising, and community-service events Equipment management and reconciliation of equipment expenses Team travel arrangements and reconciliation of team travel expenses Management and production of team social media channels Assist the Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities, Events, and Scheduling with: Game site-management, set-up and break-down for home athletic contests, and oversight and training of student workers for assigned game-site management Preparation and break-down of athletic venues for seasonal usage, pick-up and distribution of athletics deliveries, periodically serving in an on-call capacity to assist with time-sensitive facilities and game management matters Required knowledge, skills and abilities Bachelor’s degree. Coaching or playing experience at the collegiate, high school, or club level. Ability to work with a diverse group of constituents. Knowledge and compliance with NCAA and league rules and regulations. Certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid is necessary but can be obtained through Vassar College as needed. A valid and unrestricted driver’s license. Successful result of a background check. Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities Two or more years of coaching experience. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated understanding of the role of intercollegiate athletics at a highly selective institution. Proven ability to promote inclusion, belonging, and positive team culture. Evidence of ongoing professional development.
