The CNM tutor is an individual who provides academic support and guidance to students in various and multiple subjects. Each tutor works one-on-one or in small groups to help students improve their understanding and performance in specific areas. Tutors assist with homework, teach study skills, review class materials, and provide personalized instruction. Some tutors specialize in subjects such as math, science, language arts, or test preparation.
Assists students in reviewing course material and problem-solving. Contributes to a supportive, cordial learning environment. Coordinates and/or conducts workshops and study groups for students. Conducts marketing activities such as class visits and new student orientations. Serves as a communication link and faculty liaison. Guides students in selecting and using material to meet learning needs. Maintains a weekly calendar of available hours for student appointments. Maintains instructional materials (e.g., textbooks, calculators, software, etc.). Collects and analyzes data. Participates in required tutor training. Provides supervision in the absence of a Learning Center Supervisor as delegated and assists TLC Management with recruiting, screening, hiring, orienting, mentoring, and retaining new peer (student), and/or volunteer tutors. Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Employees are required to comply with safety regulations, procedures, protocols, OSHA standards, and wear personal protective gear if required.
