The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in planning practices, leading player development, and managing game-day adjustments. Additionally, they are responsible for recruiting prospective student-athletes and supporting their academic success and personal growth.
Candidates must have an associate's degree or equivalent experience, along with successful coaching and recruiting experience. A current CPR/AED certification and a clean driving record are also required.

Teach basketball fundamentals, team systems, and offensive/defensive strategies. Support game preparation through scouting, film breakdown, and opponent analysis. Assist with game-day coaching, bench management, and in-game adjustments. Promote strength, conditioning, and injury prevention for student-athletes. Help identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes who fit KVCC’s culture. Build and maintain recruiting relationships with coaches across Maine and New England. Support student-athlete academic success, retention, personal growth, and connection to campus resources. Assist with program operations including travel, equipment, scheduling, and events/camps Maintain compliance with institutional and athletic policies while fostering a professional, inclusive, and respectful team culture.
