The Assistant Coach provides instruction, mentoring, and guidance to student-athletes to maximize their athletic potential. Additionally, the role handles program administrative support, including scheduling, transportation, and expense tracking.

Position Overview

The Assistant Roller Hockey Coach in the Athletic Department, reporting to the Associate Director of Athletics collaborates with the athletics department advisor and team leaders to set goals, develop budgets, evaluate organizational needs, problem-solve, and serve as a liaison with other college departments essential to program implementation and success.This is a part-time, seasonal position and is a fantastic opportunity to work with a thriving

collegiate club to play a key role in the clubs continued development and success.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Coach will be inheriting a group of highly talented and motivated men that have continued to compete at Nationals every year.

  • Coaching Duties (80%)
  • Providing instruction, mentoring and guidance to student athletes to allow them to develop their athletic skills and abilities to maximum potential.
  • Evaluating athletic ability and performance.
  • Assuring that equipment and practice plans are prepared in advance of practice sessions.
  • Maintaining positive and professional relations with students, athletes, and alumni
  • Ability to teach safe and proper technique to beginning level players while challenging and integrating the skills of higher-level players
  • Be an active participant in the life of the College by attending and supporting key events like Commencement, Homecoming, and other all-hands-on-deck gatherings. Show a spirit of collaboration and community involvement, including volunteering when possible.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Program Administrative Support (20%)
  • Coordinate scheduling, meals, transportation, etc for all team trips in conjunction with the head coach
  • Track team expenses and process invoices

In compliance with Massachusetts pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is $2,000–$2,500 per season. This range reflects base pay only and does not include other potential compensation or benefits.

Requirements

Candidates must have at least one year of relevant experience in coaching or athletics. The role requires the ability to teach safe techniques to various skill levels and a commitment to community involvement.
