Job description

Description The Village School of Naples is seeking a dedicated and passionate Upper School Math Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage students in rigorous, inquiry-based learning within a collaborative, faith-based environment.

Position Overview The Upper School Math Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering dynamic, student-centered instruction that supports mathematical understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Courses may include Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, AP Calculus, and AP Computer Science, depending on school needs and candidate expertise. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong content knowledge, instructional flexibility, and a commitment to educating the whole student.

Key Responsibilities Design and implement engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans and assessments Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes inquiry, collaboration, and curiosity Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance Utilize educational technology and the learning management system effectively Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary S.T.R.E.A.M. and project-based learning initiatives Communicate regularly with parents and participate in conferences as needed Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events Support distance learning when necessary Model Christ-centered values and support the mission and vision of The Village School Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of School or Division Head About Upper School Mathematics The mathematics program at The Village School is designed to build strong foundational skills while challenging students through increasingly complex problem-solving experiences. Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field Teaching certification or licensure appropriate for upper school education Experience teaching upper school mathematics; Advanced Placement (AP) experience preferred Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to integrate technology and innovative instructional strategies into daily instruction Passion for inquiry-based, student-centered learning and interdisciplinary teaching Commitment to ongoing professional growth and collaborative teamwork Interest in coaching students and/or participating in extracurricular or after-school programs Strong understanding of 21st-century instructional practices and interdisciplinary connections Excellent verbal and written communication skills reflective of a high level of professionalism High level of proficiency with educational technology for instruction, record keeping, and communication Ability to articulate and support the mission and Christian environment of the school Demonstrated competence in distance learning, including effective online instruction, communication, organization, and attention to detail Physical ability to perform essential teaching functions, including sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds without assistance
