• Description: The George Crothers Memorial School is seeking a full-time classroom assistant to work in our special education program. Position works with students ages 3 through 21 with multiple physical and intellectual disabilities. Essential

Duties and Responsibilities

Planning an educational program to fit the needs and abilities of school-aged students living with multiple disabilities and/or complex medical diagnoses. Assessing student skills utilizing a variety of informal (i.e. classroom observation, data collection, rating scales) and formal assessments for individualized program development. Developing and Implementing IEP goals Identifying specially designed instruction Monitoring progress throughout the IEP period.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and permanent, provisional, or instructional 1 or 2 Certification by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as a special education teacher. Minimum one year experience preferred. This position requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including the ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds, bend, twist, and turn.
