Specific
Essential Functions: Assesses students’ metacognitive strengths and needs and works purposefully with students to create individualized action plans that lay the foundation for student success. Assists students with integration of study strategy techniques with the course content. Supports students in establishing goals for higher levels of engagement with their own academic progress and success. Prepares workshops and materials to enhance student comprehension and supplement course assignments. Collaborates with student organizations, academic departments, and programs to deliver relevant educational support, both onsite and online. Directs students to institutional resources relevant to academic progress and career exploration. Maintains knowledge of the College’s programs, policies, procedures, and academic standards. Keeps regular and accurate records using required software and related forms and submits appropriate paperwork in a timely manner. Engages in promoting and presenting information about academic support services and resources at the Centers for Learning Excellence. Serves as a Centers for Learning Excellence liaison with faculty and staff in the interest of student success as directed by supervisor. Participates in required departmental training, workshops, and meetings. Has access to a remote working site that is safe and free from interruptions, and to a reliable Internet connection sufficient to perform job duties remotely as required. Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, the Windows environment, and internet research skills.
