Job DescriptionThe Department of Languages and Cross-Cultural Studies at Augsburg University invites applications for an adjunct faculty position to teach one section ofHMO 111: Beginning Hmong I in Fall 2026 (9/2/2026 – 12/18/2026) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:10–11:40am andHMO 112: Beginning Hmong II in Spring 2027 (1/19/2027 – 5/7/2027) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:10–11:40am.Applications will be accepted through July 24, 2026.In addition to teaching the class and grading student work, instructors are expected to respond to student questions through email, hold regularly scheduled office hours, reach out to students with course progress information, and communicate regularly with the course coordinator. Familiarity with Moodle preferred. Each course requires approximately 12-15 hours/week for 15-16 weeks. The successful candidate will possess both a high level of intercultural competency and a commitment to inclusive practice and authentic representation.The collective bargaining agreement with SEIU, Local 284, covers adjunct teaching at Augsburg University. This restriction also applies to online courses. QualificationsPreferred Qualifications BA in a relevant field plus significant experience teaching Hmong, preferably at the college level. MA preferred.
